Judging by the description and other reviews I thought the range would be better. I have a large yard and don't expect the phone to cover everything, but I was hoping for more, front and back. Moving the base from the top floor to the bottom didn't help. I did better with my broken 900mhz phone. I would also like a call button (on/off) and a volume control for the handset. When I'm hard of hearing I use the speakerphone and it makes the sound louder, but it's not the best solution. All in all I like the phone. It's small but still a good size for your hand and for choosing. The display lights up quite well and I like the selection of ringtones. The intercom function is convenient and the operating instructions are easy to understand. The phone is intuitive to use and is our first phone to use a phone book instead of memory, much like a cell phone's contact list. I haven't tried the autoresponder features yet. I like multiple phones and will probably buy another one for another room. All in all it's a good phone so far and barring complaints about the range I'd probably buy it again. Update 6/2008: Still works as well as when purchased. I've mentally adjusted to the area "problem" so I don't think about it anymore. LOVE caller ID and voicemail features, never set up an answering machine.
