I am on the fence on this review, I finally went with 4 instead of 3 stars because the pen solution is so clever. Do note this is a minimalist case, as in it provides zero drop protection and really is just to keep it from getting scratched and give you a way to prop it up in landscape mode.My biggest beef is how the weak the magnets to hold it in place are. If you open it on the wrong side, the whole cover comes completely off. I've done that a few times thankfully it was in my lap both times. I'm also not a fan of the edges which are not soft and make holding the ipad in your hands book-style less comfortable. That is pretty common for this design though so not terribly surprising. Why can't anyone make a folio case with soft edges?!Otherwise it's well made and the materials feel nice to touch. The pen solution is great because it doesn't add the bulk of a built in pen tray, but still keeps it secure if you wish to put on the additional flap.Heads up the purple color is definitely a lavender and in no way matches the purple ipad mini, which is a much more blue/grey purple. Do not get this particular cover in purple expecting it to go with your purple ipad. I didn't deduct a star for this, because the picture they show is very true to the actual color of the case. Just more of an FYI.
