Review on ⏰ Magnasonic Projection Alarm Clock: AM/FM Radio, Battery Backup, Auto Time Set, Dual Alarm, Nap/Sleep Timer, Temperature/Date Display, Dimming & 3.5mm Audio Input - Black (EAAC601) by Chris Palmer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

great watch 3 days straight

I ordered two of these to replace my alarm clock and my wife's. When they arrived they were easy to set up (I only had to set the time to about 4 minutes). The alarm clock seemed good for the price. I love that there are two alarms that can be set to buzz or radio. The menu isn't as intuitive as other watches, but it's easy enough to navigate. And the time projection was great. My wife's watch worked fine but I had a low light issue. The display was supposed to have a HI-LOW-OFF dimmer setting, but I had HI-OFF-OFF, not a middle option. Well, HI can light up a room, while turning it off is more of a negative display (screen goes black and numbers are matte white). LOW on another device is fine for late night playback, but I didn't have it. I contacted the manufacturer instead of Revain and they asked me to try a reset which didn't work. So they immediately sent me another block. I was pleased with the customer service and how easy it was to resolve this issue. Everything was going well the day the new one appeared; However, the blue display was a different shade of blue than the original my wife had. This not only gave me a slight OCD pulse, but also made me question the manufacturer's overall consistency and quality control. But I can ignore it as long as the device works, and it did. No kidding, after 2 hours my wife's device started playing. The radio only emitted static, and there was a slight "digital" squeak in the background. I tried tuning the VHF antenna but to no avail. Then the alarm refused to ring. The button (pressed once to bring up the alarm setting function and then pressed and held to start setting) only allowed me to see what the alarm was already set to, but didn't set it to a new alarm. Out of frustration I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the radio worked! Hooray. Apparently no problem with the antenna or the location, just something inside didn't work out. But the alarm clock didn't work. Instead of getting a new one from the manufacturer, I just sent everything back. Great watch if/when it works. But if two out of three fail in 4 days, that's not a good first impression. Congratulations to the several thousand people who have achieved 5 star achievement. But I'm in the 2 to 3 star approval range for this product. I have included photos to illustrate the HI-LOW-OFF dimmer settings only. The photos were taken with a crappy cell phone camera so I adjusted them to try to give a more accurate picture, hope this helps SOMEONE although my advice is to just buy something completely different.
