Since Radio Shack is no longer around I resort to buying the necessary connections on the internet. I've used it to connect 2 ham radios to an external speaker in my house and it does exactly what it says it will. You'll notice a slight drop in volume, but not a significant one (depending on your device's audio output, of course). Works great for what I use it for.
