This is my first purchase of a mechanical keyboard, so I can't compare it to more expensive brands. This $35 keyboard is a steal for the build and feel of the keys. I hate typing on soft, flat keyboards and my 11 year old Keytronics keyboard is showing some wear and tear. The backlight is great for typing in a dimly lit corner of my room at night. Please note that the keyboard must be connected directly to the computer or possibly to a powered USB hub. This caused problems with other devices when I plugged it into an unpowered USB hub. This keyboard comes with 5 spare switches and a key puller. I'm considering getting another one as a replacement.
