I needed something compact for travel and now that I use DE razors I don't want to go back to disposables. I suppose I can pick up blades when flying to my destination, but I needed a decent razor and brush. This set surprised me. It is very compact and the quality is excellent. The brush is soft and feels firm when assembled. I won't know until I spend more time on how tight the hair is tied, but it looks good. The biggest surprise was the razor. The box came with a set of Lord Platinum blades, but the bag itself contained a Merkur blade and the razor itself looks like a Merkur with a smaller handle. You can see in the pictures it is lined up next to my current Merkur razor and I have checked the details carefully and they match the codes. It's not advertised as a Merkur shaver (probably due to the price) and performance may vary, but I couldn't be happier even though it's the white label version. change my recommendation. The brush was the design I wanted but whatever it was the hair clumped together and smelled like dog when wet. Maybe it really is a dog. He couldn't put on shaving cream and when I washed him I saw a strange goo. I'm afraid to guess what it's made of. He shed like crazy. I immediately threw it in the trash.
