Review on πŸ”’ Weston 65-0501-W Pro Advantage Vacuum Sealer, 11-inch, Stainless Steel and Black by Ashley Watkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth the money good for kitchen and dining room

Has much better suction power than my old food helper. It's a bit annoying that I have to pat the foam seal down after almost every use because it stretches a bit. You really just have to take your finger and tap it, but I'm not sure if I should do that. I now exchange it every day for a significantly higher quality than my old vacuum sealer. I like the fact that I can stop the suction midway and seal the bag. This is useful for fragile items, as well as things with hard edges that might otherwise puncture the bag. If I have something that can pierce the bag and I want it to be completely sealed, I either wrap it in wax paper or put it inside the bag in a regular unsealed bag. It's not a problem with the car, it's a problem with all the bags. I dehydrate my hiking food and dehydrated hamburgers, rice and the like will cause tiny holes in my bag if you don't take steps to protect the bag. It can seal large packages. I've had several attachments for sealing the lid of a food jar. It worked well with a food preservation tube. (These sealing machines don't really work with mylar bags - most of these machines don't work. If you cut a few very small pieces off a grocery bag and just leave them in there and exit the bag through the sealing line, it sucks. I just use a hair straightener to to seal the bag (my old tin can couldn't suck up a mylar bag even with this trick.) It costs more than machines you get at most grocery stores. I think if you're sealing a lot of dishes the extra money is worth it. The line in your sealed bag is wider than my old car. This is a thicker seal. Last but not least, you REALLY have to press down to latch it to seal the packages. Having read the previous review before purchasing, I knew this was to be expected. The easiest way for me to fix the seal is to lean my elbow - first in one direction, then in the other. That aspect (plus the need to squeeze the foam insert with almost every use) earned it four stars for "ease of use". For me these are very small problems. I'm a big fan of this car. I believe it will take a long time. significantly longer than my old vacuum sealer. It is very durable. I really can't say enough good things about him.
