I have several 2.5" SATA hard drives and SSDs that I have removed from old laptops or bought either for additional drives or to replace the main drives (as is the case with the SSDs (which I bought to replace primary hard drives for better performance), I wanted to find a way to reuse these drives as external USB drives. These old drives make great secondary or backup drives. I have compared many external cases and when I found ORICO cases a few years ago I was very happy with them and have never looked back. They are very well made, easy to use and have survived multiple falls from 5ft to the ground and not once have I had a break or stopped working. Your ride in them is a breeze that takes literally seconds and you're good to go! They come with a USB3.x compatible cable and a small foam insert to put in if your drive has room to wiggle to ensure they are secure and snug in the case. When I bought my first ORICO case you had a choice of black, black or black, so a tag was always needed to distinguish them, what device you use them on or what they are used for, not to mention that they were just little things, but very functional. These novelties are once available in a choice of colors making them very aesthetically pleasing and much easier to distinguish. I have several of these cases and for under $10 you just can't go wrong! I don't think I'll be buying another brand anytime soon as ORICO has done very well over the years and their design and durability have steadily improved over time. If you pick one thing from this review then ORICO cases will be a great buy if that is what you are looking for. Don't be fooled by the more expensive SATA USB3 enclosures that cost 2-4 times more! They are way more expensive and they will do the same job! You will seriously waste your money as these cases are amazing and very inexpensive.
