Review on Merrell Alpine Sneaker Black Ripstop Men's Shoes by Corby Muin

Well made and very comfortable. The fit is true to size. I have owned many other brands of hiking shoes/boots but this was my first time trying Merrel's. As a man, I like manufacturers who create interesting color combinations. I got tired of the usual black/grey/brown many years ago. I've always wondered why women's sneakers and boots look cool while men's shoes look like grandpas. Hopefully Merrell will continue to push the boundaries of high performance and good looks for those with a more eccentric style. Honestly, why are flashy shoes synonymous with eccentricity? The color is fun and life is too short for brown. I also upgraded the laces to RJ sport elastic laces (available here at Revain). Many colors available and well made. The elastic lacing system allows the shoe to stretch and touch as you walk or hike, and you don't have to worry about the laces catching or loosening. If you are on your way to buying these shoes I would highly recommend them.
