The drive ID on these drives is RITEK-BW1-001. That means Ritek made them and not the usual CMC junk that Memorex makes. I had 2 stacks of these 25 cake slices as well as about 5 individual slices like this item. Of those 50 discs, only one was unwritable after being successfully formatted. I've been using these drives for about two years now and they seem to be pretty decent level 2 products. They won't match Verbatim in terms of pre-CMC quality, but for now, Verbatim only makes junk BD-RE CMCs. However, the Playstation 3 has problems playing the Ritek BD-R. They tend to skip title sets early in the disc and have playback problems at random points in other title sets. Now the PS3 may have trouble playing these discs. However, I would have trusted these Ritek BD-REs long before I trusted CMC. However, some people have reported problems with Ritek media. I've been using Ritek DVD products for about 10 years now and consider them a good second class product. Ritek makes Maxell DVD-Rs and now they make Sony since Sony stopped making their own DVD-Rs.
