Gym ropes are filled with all manner of sweat and snot making them one of the filthiest attachments in a gym. I’ve been lifting 3-4 times a week for decades and I’ve NEVER seen gym personnel or gym users clean a rope. The photo of the rope on the floor on the far right shows a typical gross gym rope.Even if you’re not concerned about the dirt, the potential disease transmission is currently an issue with COVID. Ropes can also be in use or hard to find during a gym visit. To alleviate all those issues, I bought my own specifically for the gym.The rope on this pull is very supple unlike the ones at the gym and another one I own for my home cable set up. It’s also red so it doesn’t blend in with black gym owned ropes and the front desk bimbos don’t think I stole this one. I filed a flat spot on the metal attachment and stamped my initials on the metal to ensure there is no confusion. The metal ring that attaches the rope to the cable machine slides freely and the rope itself is a bit longer than my other black rope (see photos) - maybe 4 inches longer overall - it’s over 2 feet in length. That’s good for me - I have big hands. It also comes with its own carabiner. No, I don’t know why a small minority of gym users steal carabiners from the machines, it’s really irritating. The plastic ends are firmly secured (so far) and the rope works well for all the rope routines I have in my fitness app.Just for hygiene reasons alone this rope is a good idea and when you factor in all the other reasons I cited above, it’s a slam dunk and definitely worth the price. Hope that helps!
