Review on NEC EA234WMI BK 23 Inch LED Lit Monitor: Full HD 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Wide Screen ‎EA234WMI-BK by Keith Chesney

I bought this NEC monitor about a month ago and while using it I noticed a "glow effect" in the lower left corner. Further investigation made it clear to me that this monitor was "leaking" or "bleeding" profusely from that corner. It glows from other corners, but not as intensely as the bottom left corner. Other backlighting was within acceptable limits for the LCD. Most LCDs let some light through, but this one has a noticeable amount of backlight, so much so that it ruins dark scenes in games or anything with a dark background. I sent the monitor back to the seller hoping it was just a bad unit. The next device came to me in identical condition. Not wanting to believe the range was defective, I decided to send it back to NEC for a repaired unit. Restoring directly from the original manufacturer is usually the best way to replace a defective product. The refurbished unit also had the same serious backlight issue, meaning all EA234WMI-BKs have a strong backlight. I ended up returning the second Revain monitor to NEC for a refund and the third monitor. NEC technical support has been fantastic! They did everything via email, didn't require me to create an account, trusted me with faulty devices, and got a replacement within the same week. Overall, NEC has done an excellent job of technical support/customer service. Unfortunately the monitor turned out to be bad but I brought the issue to their attention so hopefully they will fix this range. I chose this monitor because it meets all my needs. Except for the backlight this monitor was great, it had all the features I wanted, HDMI and DP, a USB hub and you could turn off the power light if you wanted.
