I am a professional swimming coach. I train six days a week and work with children from 6 to 15 years old. The indoor pool is full of ambient noise and the kids I work with can't hear me unless I'm constantly projecting my voice, which means I'm screaming three hours a day. After ten years, two cases of pneumonia, a chronic sore throat and a hoarse voice, I was finally convinced to buy a voice amplifier. I can't speak to its durability yet, but the sound clarity, decibel levels, and ease of use were all excellent. I have NOT had any feedback issues but I wear the speaker fairly low on my waist and am quite tall so it stays a reasonable distance from the mic. All the kids can hear me, even across the pool, just speaking in my "normal" voice. In fact, they said my voice sounded "weird" at first. I told them, "Yes, that's my NORMAL voice! I no longer have the WILL!” He is already losing his hoarseness. But the REAL value is my emotional and physical well-being. I was amazed at how tired I was, how tiring it was screaming all the time! I now see that yelling, whether I was "angry" or not, raised my blood pressure and caused me physical stress. Now I'm SO relaxed and calm, don't have to make an effort to be heard and coaching is fun again!
