My daughter has the same monitor (with folding stand, no stand). I liked their monitor so much I bought my own but I wanted one with a stand. It's better to have a stand. My advice, keep the box. The monitor is fragile. Don't expect to toss it in your backpack with your computer and it will come out unscathed. I use the monitor box as a stand to add some height when using it. So leave the box.
