The door is a good replacement for the original. Metal, not cheap plastic. It's not waterproof, but opens the side for the power cord. Therefore, the video may last longer than the battery life. The Cold Shoe doesn't have a mounting hole to securely attach the flashlight, so I wouldn't recommend using it with it.
