I read all the reviews on this power supply and like you I was concerned about the value for money. Also, I'm basing this review on a few months of heavy daily use, so I definitely tested it. Other reviewers complained about the device's noise level. I've been using the device for several months and it's absolutely silent, I can't say. Build Quality: I read a review complaining about the cheap/crude build. I am very picky about such things and find nothing wrong with the manufacturer or the material used. Keeping the old unit and the new replacement side by side, I find them comparable. Any differences in material or build quality are very small. The only thing to worry about with this PSU is the cable used, which is noticeably thinner/smaller. This may be because it has been redesigned to match the product information advertised, eliminating the need for heavier gauge wire, or skimping on copper wires to save money. (You should ask an electrician or engineer for their opinion.) Still, I see absolutely no difference in the performance of my Xbox One being used all the time. As far as I can tell, it works just as well as the original. If one of my other Xboxes had a power outage, I would have no hesitation in buying another one as a replacement. (I have 3 Xboxes, 2 of which had their original PSUs fail.) At this point in the Xbox's life cycle, you just want a unit that will last long enough that you can last a year or so until the next gen comes out. .
