I received my Z712 a week ago and have taken over 600 shots with it. It's quite small (although it won't fit in your pocket) and light. This is a fast camera with precise focus. 12x zoom is great. It has an auto mode that evaluates the shooting conditions and the subject and automatically selects the correct scene mode; in my experience it's pretty accurate. You can use it as a guide and shoot, or make your own aperture, shutter, or full manual settings. The camera's high ISO does a good job - even my worst shots at 1600 can be used (with a little help from Neat Image). There are practically no spoiled frames due to the camera's (yes, the photographer's) error. The colors are definitely Kodak, but not as saturated as some of their cameras. Many details can be seen in the photos. The CRV3 battery lasted over 500 shots with frequent use of the flash and LCD monitor. This is a camera with a great combination of qualities and some flaws. A picture is worth a thousand words. So if you want to see the actual product of the camera, please visit my Kodak Z712 IS gallery on pbase. Just find the camera and tgaf. I posted over 80 photos of various kinds there.
