VOC Warning: These tables give off gases like CRAZY. There was even a warning somewhere on the packaging that they didn't meet some VOC regulations that I had never heard of. I picked them up in the middle of the morning and returned to them a few hours later to get a chemical smell from the hall wall in my face. I took her to an empty room and opened the windows to keep the gas flowing. My wife asked us to bring her back to the bedroom after three days and I complied. The next morning we both felt ill with fairly severe respiratory symptoms in the head and chest. I re-insulated the tables and as the VOC levels went down (yes I have a VOC monitor in the bedroom) our symptoms went away. The tables will not lie in another room for 3-4 months, and there, hopefully, with ventilation, they will finish their gassing. I would recommend avoiding this product unless you plan on buying it and isolating it from the air you breathe for a few months. Bought two of these as new bedside tables. They looked amazing and matched the bed almost perfectly. Please note that color may vary slightly between items as the two I received were far from identical. It makes them look more natural in my opinion, which is fine, but be aware. The wood is very light and they feel less stable on the carpet as they are less weight than I would like. Assembly was very easy, but if it's a difficult spot to put the screws, you have to be careful not to split the wood. I would recommend drilling small pilot holes if you're feeling unsure. Don't go all the way.
