These towels are different from any other towels I have used. They don't feel like the towels I buy in department stores. They have nice tight stitches and feel like a thin tapestry or maybe a shawl. They're not thick at all, but the way they're sewn means they dry hands well. I use them in the kitchen as towels but they can be used anywhere. They are slightly larger than a regular towel, a hybrid of hand towel and body towel. They are 100% cotton but I haven't noticed any shrinkage when washed in cold water. If they have lost weight, it is very insignificant. I line dried them as tumble drying is not recommended, but they can be ironed. They are very pretty and will complement my lingerie wardrobe perfectly. My son said maybe he could use them to put a pillow on the couch because they look too pretty to dry his hands on. I like them and would love to buy a set of body towels next time. I would give that five stars but this towel is such an odd size for my hands. But nice cloth
