Review on TESSAN Power Strip Tower: Surge Protector with 8 AC Outlets, 4 πŸ’‘ USB Ports, and Circuit Breaker Safeguard - Ideal for Home, Office, Dorm Room by Robert Correa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great extension cord with large plugs without losing the socket.

All of my computer's components were plugged into 3 surge protectors located under the table behind the drawer and under the shelf above the drawer. Every time I needed to move a plug or change a peripheral, I had to pull out a drawer and climb over a shelf to get to it. The reason for connecting three extension cords was that many of the plugs were oversized, covering 2-3 outlets. Any socket can be used with this extension cable. Since the product description and accompanying documentation doesn't mention surge protection in joules, I'm assuming this device doesn't offer surge protection, but it will automatically turn off if the power flowing through it exceeds 2500 watts. For my purposes, I'm planning on leaving a surge protector under the table that I'll be connecting this surge protector to. This device is stored on a shelf above a drawer where it is very easy to access. I also love that this power strip has 4 USB ports to charge my tablets and phone without running power cords across my desk to plug into USB chargers. . I like that there are buttons to turn off either the USB ports or the four outputs, but I don't think that would be necessary unless you're going over 2500W. If you're using this unit in the kitchen for When using appliances, you may only need to worry about power, as many kitchen appliances can draw between 1000 and 1800 watts of power. this can be useful in other applications. My husband saw this extension cord when I got it and now he wants one for his workshop where there aren't enough outlets. I guess I'll have to buy him another one. If I change my mind about this extension or have any issues with it, I will definitely update this review. So far I am very satisfied with this power strip and have given it 4 stars instead of 5, just because it is described in the product description as a surge protector without proof of suitability. UPDATE 8/21/18: I have raised my star rating from 4 stars to 5 because the seller informed me that this power strip is rated at 150 joules. He assured me that he would update the product page to reflect this information. This 150W extension offers more protection than many others. UPDATE 08/27/18. I've added a second image to show the new home for this expansion. All of the plugs in it were now behind the printer stand and connected to a standard power strip. Now they are all available on the table and we don't have to pull out the printer and climb behind the printer stand to get to the connectors. We love this power tower and plan to get more for other areas. I'd also like to mention that I plugged this power tower into a power strip with surge protection, as the spec sheet doesn't mention surge protection - only overload protection if you're running more than 2500 watts across it at a time.
