Great projector for video projectors

I bought this projector last year and am very happy with it. I haven't used its HDTV capabilities (because I don't have sources), but I use it to regularly show movies from my computer. With more input modes than you're likely to need, this projector can accommodate almost any viewing need. I used it for VGA and DVI input as well as S-Video for my PS2. As a computer monitor, it works great up to a resolution of 1024x768. It is capable of downsampling 1280 x 1024 input but leaves 12 point text nearly unreadable during downsampling. I've used it successfully at 1024 x 768 for gaming and movies and it works great. It works very well when displaying the analog TV input from my PS2. Final Fantasy 10 showed only minor blurring due to being displayed on a large monitor, and overall I'm very happy with its analog TV capabilities. As a PC monitor with media center, it's great. After adjusting the settings, the display was better than my parents' rear projection screen. Despite everything, there are a few problems: 1. Downsampling from 1280x1024 leaves many disadvantages. I tried using this resolution to play World of Warcraft and the text distortion ended up giving me a headache. Trying to program 12 or 14 point text at this resolution caused similar problems. However, if I had just watched the film, I probably wouldn't have noticed the downsampling artifacts. If you plan to play PC games or run similar programs on this projector, remember that you must use a resolution of 1024 x 768 (this is not as big of a problem as you might think since you are on a 5th generation). -Foot display are still a bit of a disappointment).2. There is only one "User Mode" for display settings, but it has very different requirements for different inputs. For example, the PS2 has a noticeably dimmer output than a VGA connection to a computer, and increasing the brightness when switching to a computer causes a blurry effect. The built-in Movie, Game (and one other I can't remember) options are acceptable, but manually adjusting the display options for a specific input always results in a cleaner, brighter image with clearer Colours. I would like to have at least 5 custom settings for the display.3. If you don't use the right input display settings, the output can be terrible. Effects range from dark colors fading to black on the PS2, to washed out when connected to a computer. In addition, changing the contrast and brightness sometimes drastically affects the amount of visible color. The projector hasn't had automatic light recognition like televisions since I was born. When you turn on the overhead light, you usually have to adjust the display to make it brighter. This is something the trivial part of the circuit can and should handle. With these issues in mind, I would like to reiterate that I believe the projectors on the market are the best choice for home theater/personal use. Most people won't be changing the input all the time, and for most of them tweaking your user settings to handle your movie's input should be enough. As a 1024 x 768 computer screen, it allows for team editing of documents and would handle PowerPoint with ease if I used it. In a normal situation when using the projector, the room is dark and the automatic light detection is not a problem. If you're going to buy a projector this year without some amazing new competitors, this should be it. It's inexpensive, very bright, accepts almost any input, and plays movies and computer screens very well.
