This scratching post is a good height and has a nice base size. The processing quality is very good. Easy to assemble. Because it only has 2 legs (rather than 3 or 4), it naturally wobbles slightly. Our 14 and 12 pound crampons didn't seem to mind at all. The cats played a little with the rope. Cats also jumped through the rope hole and regularly fell into it. A small "house" is fine for a 12 lb cat, but a 14 lb cat is cramped (although she will go in there). After a while we rearranged the tree so that the house was at the top. After that, cats began to use the house more often. Often one cat sits on the roof of the house while the other goes inside. This is our second Armarkat product and we will continue to buy from them, they make good products. One thing I wish it was a rope wrapped in a "fire pole" for the cats to climb all the way to the top. Currently the bars are too short for cats to climb in. Instead, they usually jump from level to level. I also wish this model had a third leg to make it more stable. We decided to attach the tree to the wall in such a way that it is completely ribbed. It's not necessary, but if you don't like seeing him move when cats jump on him, it renders him completely immobile.
