Review on πŸ’» Kinesis Advantage2 Ergonomic Keyboard (KB600) - Black Top Case, Cherry MX Brown Switches, QWERTY Keycaps by Ryan Schweigert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This keyboard was pretty much a destructive force with little recoil at the end. But you might like it!

Disclaimer: I'm a good typist and have been using this keyboard every day for the past three months. These are my conclusions. OK, what I liked: The position of the hands is really perfect. The keys are also of good quality and have a pleasant feel. What I didn't like - 1. The built-in memory immediately deteriorated, and the support answer about its recovery was only for Windows users. After a week of waiting and several email exchanges, I got a reply, but I just didn't have the time or inclination to mess with the keyboard's onboard memory at the time, as it was basically still working (as an input device). The learning curve is like that, and if you're a typist, it's probably worth it. If you are a software developer (like me) it's just not good for me because they moved all the basic special characters that developers use :(). {}[] etc. Can I reprogram my curly braces (apart from wasting time retraining 20 years of muscle memory) so that they are where the ampersand is? Are you sure? Can I add to my initial confusion by remapping all the buttons to where I want them to bypass the default location? Yes. In any case, all the important special characters of the developers have been relocated to the lowlands of the little finger. To get around this, I remapped many of the shortcuts in my IDE to get around everything, but that was just extra time. If you are planning to buy this keyboard but are busy and have tight deadlines to meet soon, don't worry about this keyboard as it will abruptly interrupt your workflow for at least 4 weeks. I ended up going back to my old Microsoft Ergo for all of the reasons above plus the following: Once you develop muscle memory for this keyboard, you'll be in a mess if you go back to a regular keyboard for the first 5 or 10 minutes. I have friends who like this keyboard and they are developers too. But I got feedback from them that I will remap a lot of keys etc.

Cons
