Review on Symphonized GLXY Premium Genuine Wood In-Ear Noise-Isolating Headphones With Mic And Nylon Cable (Cherry) by Alexander Roberson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent sound; thick braided cable and strain relief provide pocket protection.

I like these headphones very much. I've tried a few pairs over the years, most recently the Elago E6M (2 pairs, one with warranty), the Nuforce NE-600M and the Monoprice 109927 (and 108320) Enhanced Bass headphones and so far they've all been more than decent, each of them, despite good care, failed after a year or less of regular use. I haven't used them in so long, but here are my impressions so far. Sound: Let's start with what matters most to most people - sound quality. It is excellent. The highs and mids are crisp and bright, and while some of the headphones listed above were just as clear, none of them felt "real". I'm still a bit skeptical that it's all because they're made of wood, I can't deny how much it feels like the music is being created right in front of me. The bass is great too, fuller than I'm used to (I'm not a bass player) but not in an undesirable way; As with the mids and highs, I'm surprised that the bass can be so clear from an in-ear headphone. Fit: They're surprisingly small, and especially for this size, the drivers seem a lot bigger than you'd expect. for headphones in this price range. Most headphones I've used have been large enough in one dimension to cause discomfort after prolonged listening (rubbing or pressing on any part of my ear; that's not the case. After penetrating my ear canals, these headphones became small enough not to touch other parts of my ear To give you a better idea of how good this feels for you - I have relatively small ears and use the smallest pair of ear tips (of the 3 pairs provided) Despite this the fit is snug and the headphones stay in my ears as they bounce up and down - inch end). in a jeans pocket where most headphones end up. This is a very useful feature as most of my headphones have it. failed due to insufficient kink protection on the plug. The cable itself is braided and thicker than other headphones I've tried. Where it connects to the headphones, it is protected from bending by a flexible 1cm thick rubber sleeve, further increasing durability. I'm a little worried about where the cable splits into two parts (to connect two headphones) and a microphone/button as those two spots don't have a soft rubber bend/strain relief, but time will tell. The microphone button looks a little cheap, but it clicks clearly and works as it should. As for the wood, it's beautiful and stylish as you would expect.
