We have a faucet mounted reverse osmosis spout with a 3 stage filtration system with a tank (under the kitchen sink) PLUS a built in post filter. I noticed the other day that the water isn't as tasty as usual. When I check TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) the values are very, very low (less than 10). Better than the best bottled water I can find! Above 40 ppm you should consider replacing old 3-stage filters. So I thought of changing ONLY the very last inline post filter. I did a little research and found that our old one uses quick connectors (on both sides) and is 3/8 inch. There are different sizes and connectors, so find out which one you need. Anyway, I ordered a Hydronix ICF-10Q38. Built-in reverse osmosis post-coco GAC water filter for 2000 gallons of water - and after 10 minutes of flushing the system. Our water tastes amazing - it has no taste! The flow rate is also much higher here! I can fill a 1/2 gallon pitcher of water in a fraction of the time it took before! I'm excited! The quick connects work pretty well and it wasn't too bad (being under the sink). So if your reverse osmosis water system is working fine BUT the water doesn't taste good, this will fix the situation. Or maybe even consider adding an after-charcoal filter if you don't have one? We had one installed on our system, but this one is way better!
