I bought this light to replace a huge lighting kit I had around my desk. I usually use lightboxes for photo shoots, but when shooting desktops I needed extra lighting. This includes video calls using my webcam or quick talking head videos. I plugged this light in and was very pleasantly surprised that it doesn't require a separate power supply. It simply plugs into my computer's USB port. The light has different settings from warm and yellowish to cool and bluish. This way you get exactly the kind of lighting you need. It's bright enough to light up my face and upper body when I'm at my desk, and I was able to tuck away and keep the bulky lighting kit for big shots. further, or if you want to illuminate a larger area. But for recording with a webcam, an iPhone or a webcam up close, it does the job perfectly. Exactly what I was looking for!
