Appears to be well made. It's VERY plush, very thick, very soft. I can't say anything about the ease of care and durability as I've only had the item for a week. The product description states that the bed is 3 inches thick or 3 inches high. The bed I received was 8-9 inches thick. It took a week to get the dogs to lay on her. Now that they seem to understand that this is the bed for them, it is being used more and more and they seem to have accepted and enjoyed it. I think the fat one frightened or confused her. Their earlier beds, used for years, were about 2 inches thick.
