This isn't the first time I've changed my laptop's charger. I opted for the more expensive charger hoping it would be better than the previous two I've bought over the years. This time it took 7 months. None of the replacements I've bought have lasted as long as the originals, but Dell doesn't seem to want to sell replacement cables -- just new replacement laptops. If you're willing to shell out $5 a month, $35 is a reasonable price. However, it would be more convenient if they were sold in multiple packs so you can quickly replace it and get on with your work if one fails.
