Didn't work for die cutting and embossing

Not sure if the die is defective but I couldn't cut the design at all. Only the edges of the design showed after running it through my machine a few times, but still not enough to cut anything. I've used different cardboards, added spacers, run them through my machine over and over again, but got the same result every time. I request a replacement if this is a defect, but I've read other reviews and it seems I'm not the only one with this issue, making me skeptical about my replacement.
