We bought this "atomic clock" to replace a big number room clock that ran 4 minutes faster. the week. (It was annoying having to keep resetting the old clock.) The new clock arrived, and it came in a plug-in power version for always backlighting, as ordered. The new clock was easy to set up and the power adapter fitted. straight into the power connector on the side of the device (there's a small hole on the back that looks like it might be a power connector, but it's not). This device listens to 60 kHz long wave radio. Station operated by NIST in Fort Collins, Colorado to synchronize every midnight or 2 a.m. or 4 a.m. The data transmitted includes month, day, year, hour, minute, second and whether daylight saving time applies. The clock is already synced to NIST radio. We tested the calibration by listening to WWV on HF and it was accurate to within a split second. It will be nice to have an accurate clock and not one that runs too fast all the time. So now we have a very attractive clock with big numbers and we don't have to reset it once or twice a week like we did with the old clock. .
