is a good replacement shoe for the price, I've seen some very negative reviews but I like it and will continue to use it. For those who say the size is advertised incorrectly, the actual rubber base OD is 5.5 inches. The inner diameter of this rubber base is about 4 inches. Fits my Miata very well, an inch more could actually be used but I modified an old trunk panel to serve as an adapter for this one. There is a small top threaded hole for the shift knob. small. Not sure of the exact dimensions but even my fragile thin Miata front derailleur won't fit through the threads and the rubber is stiff which is good but unfortunately means there is no flex to slide through it. I just took my shifter off and sanded the metal on my bench grinder, repainted, you won't even notice because the slightly rough spots are hidden under the boot. You can also cut the rubber (uglier finish but much easier), the rubber boot also doesn't have holes for the decorative ring, it would be nice if they were punched in the same pattern as the decorative strip. This isn't a problem, but I have a feeling that people dealing with broken rubber may not be good at punching these holes, resulting in the rubber breaking when the hardware is tightened. I'm also not sure if they include hardware, I used my own anyway. Last but not least, the rubber boot is actually raised at an angle (the shift knob hole is not parallel to the base hole), the boot is tilted maybe 15° which is great for some applications. but not mine, i wanted the boot to be vertical and not angled towards or away from me. but it's very small, it doesn't matter much. Overall: looks good, strong and for those who complain. You have to keep in mind that this is a versatile boot for around $25. For this reason it is not a straight screw for most cars. As with many generic parts, you will likely need to make some adjustments to get the best result for your application. that doesn't mean this part is bad, just that it's designed for a wide range of uses. There really aren't any other 5.5 inch overlay ring wellies on the market that I have found and for the price this boot can't be beat anyway. If mine broke or something
