Review on 🌀 Ultra Breeze Vent Cover - White Translucent for Fan-Tastic Vent U1500WH by Ans Brownlee

This hood is approximately an inch and a half taller than our previous MaxxAir hood. This means the lid of our Fantastic Fan is now fully open to allow for better airflow. It's also a translucent white without a strong smoky hue, allowing more light through. The fastening system consists of the typical four clips that screw into the roof, two on each side. Unfortunately, for such an expensive hood, NO BUG SHIELD IS INCLUDED. There is a trellis hole but no insect screen. Our original MaxxAir hood included a bug screen. (No, the old mesh wasn't "conformable"!) The simplest and least expensive solution is to install a fiberglass insect screen on the inside of the screen, using the same tube of roofing caulk you need to seal the mounting bolts. Caution: Be sure to use a sealant that is appropriate for your roofing material. Cut the material to fit, with an overlap of 1 inch on each side. I used a 10" x 19" piece. Apply a bead of sealant along the inside edge of the grille and press the screen material into the sealant bead. See attached photo. Keep some sealant in a tube for the mounting screws.
