Review on Elegant Home Fashion Cabinet 2 Door by Christie Miller

I was so excited to see this cabinet on sale; I've had that in mind for a long time. It was part of the Black Friday sale and I ordered it right away. After ordering, I read some of the previous reviews and started to regret my decision; I wish I had looked for other products. My first clue that something was wrong was after the box arrived. One end of the box was torn open, as if someone had ripped off the cardboard and someone else taped it back together. The second clue was how SMALL the box was, albeit heavy. When my husband took out all the parts and started assembling, I found that the measurements did NOT match the product description. 31 inches from the bottom of the leg to the top of the closet, so it's shorter than advertised at 34 inches. As soon as my husband set up the main shelf, it shook terribly; there are NO lag screws under the cabinet; The included hardware simply twists and "locks" but DOES NOT lock tightly or screw into the wood for added strength. That explains the wobbling. We tried installing shelves inside to see if they would "support" the closet. They don't. As much as I wanted to love this cabinet and make it work, I knew it was best to send it back (kudos to the company for refunding my gift card) otherwise we'd have to use real screws and wood glue to make this cabinet sturdy. It's appealing but is mass-produced in China, reflecting the poor quality of the included hardware as well as the rear, which is a thin plate that will warp over time, leaving gaps behind the case. The dimensions given in the product description were also inaccurate. At least two centimeters short. I do not recommend this product. Especially if you have children (verified by Mrs. Bassman).
