Review on GF100 Portable Gas Forge: Stainless Steel 304 Single Burner Kit For Knife Making, Blacksmithing & Farrier Sword Crafting by Juan Lukas

Make sure to remove the burner set screws

Finally bought a small forge to start being able to manipulate steel instead of working around the fixed shapes for my knife making. The one is good, setup was a breeze. Only 6 steps and I was ready to light. Just ensure to poke all of the insulation into the frames lips and also make sure you remove the set screws from the burner tube. If you don’t the flame will actually go between the insulation and the frame and you’ll end up with a burned warped section like this. Hopefully this doesn’t shorten the life any. After I took those out and got it to slide down into the chamber everything was fine. Like I said just hope it doesn’t shorten the life at that section.

Cons
  • While the GF100 Portable Gas Forge boasts of being a great option for those on the move, it falls short in terms of true portability. It's relatively heavy and can be cumbersome to move from place to place, making it a less-than-ideal option for those looking to use it while out in the field
