Review on πŸ”‹ Bosch PS21 2A Dual-Speed Battery Charger by Jeremy Carpenter

Nice little tool but I chose a different model

I love Bosch tools. I got lucky with them so I went with this guy when I needed a small pocket driver to fit in a tight space. do i hold it no I'll get to the "why" in a moment. Let's talk about that first. The tool features an LED light so you can see what you're doing and two gears to choose from. (They sound the same, but like in a car, one is slower with more torque and the other is faster with less torque.) So far, so good. I like the quick release system. Some complain that this causes the beats to wobble a bit. TRUE. But no more than any other tool using this system. If this is a problem for you, choose a driver with a cartridge. For me it's perfect. Even if not everything is perfect. There is no charge level indicator on the batteries or on the tool itself. And that's not the point. It looks good. Seems well done. But I don't understand how this is supposed to work. It holds your drill in place, but other random straps seem random. If you're carrying other things, expect most of them to flap around inside unless something fits under the straps. I've seen several complaints about sparks on the back of the case. This is normal for a tool with brushes. They're not a cause for concern unless they're shooting at you full-throttle. And a few old reviews spoke of the difficulty in removing the batteries. I had no problems at all. Perhaps the design has been changed. Alternatives: I tried a few alternatives. The first was the new DeWalt DCF601 brushless screwdriver. It's brushless - no sparks, if that's important to you - and over an inch thinner (narrower?) than this Bosch. This allows it to fit into tighter spaces. It's also taller with a wide battery attached to the bottom, allowing users to stand it on end. The design also makes the DeWalt feel more balanced in the hand. And the three bright LEDs around the drill head shine much brighter than on the Bosch. They stay on for a while after the trigger is released. All in all a very impressive tool that would be a good choice if all you needed was a screwdriver. Its downside is that it only has one gear with a relatively low top speed. It's fast enough for screwing, but I'm not sure about drilling. The second option is another Bosch that's almost the same size as this one, but is *significantly* more flexible in terms of what it can do as the head may have changed. As a result, it's useful in a variety of scenarios that would be difficult for a more traditional design. Model number GSR12V-140FCB22. This is a Bosch upgrade in many ways, including a battery level indicator and a brighter LED that stays on for a while after the trigger is released, like the DeWalt. However, its killer feature is the ability to disable and even combine the four included head options. This model was my choice and will soon become one of my favorite instruments.
