Review on Fractal Design Gunmetal Aluminum FD C DEF7A 08 by Johnathan Cash

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent case in computer case

Out of the box there is room for six 3.5" drives (or 2.5) 2 bays under the power supply cover, 4 bays on top, which requires some reconfiguration Read in this one case the manual. There are also 2 dedicated 2.5 slots on the back of the motherboard (you can purchase SATA power cable extenders for this). There is also room for 1 3.5 or 2.5 disc in a multifunctional holder. There's also room for a 5.25 floppy drive for these CD/DVD holders (I'm in, lol). Suitable for very large EATX motherboards (I have a Rampage VI Extreme Encore), however the cable routing rubber grommets will be completely blocked. by motherboard. It also makes access to the mainboard's SATA ports more difficult for reasons of space. Plan your build accordingly! Do not rush this matter. Strange that all case fans are 3-pin, so no PWM. The built-in fan hub has 3 PWM and six 3-pin. Only one PWM input, so that's a possible problem. But you can route the cable to the motherboard. One issue was that the sides of the panel have tabs on either side and on the glass side the front tab was not inserted into its slot (pulled out from the front) but was force inserted and had a bend. It took a bit of persuasion to get that side off and to bend the tongue so it was straight. Once I got that sorted out, there were fewer tools to remove panels in the case. NICE. Overall very good build quality and design. Otherwise everything is very good!

Pros
  • computer case
Cons
  • almost everything is fine
