Review on Chicago Comb Stainless Anti Static Ultra Smooth Hair Care by Juanita Vipond

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent durable comb; slightly heavy stainless steel

This "Chicago Comb Model 1 Standard" is an excellent stainless steel pocket comb. The stainless steel construction is strong and won't bend, even when you're carrying it in your back pocket, and the 4-inch length is about the length I'd recommend for carrying in a bag or keeping in a travel briefcase. The teeth are well-smoothed and their medium spacing is ideal for thick hair: tight enough to effectively groom, but loose enough not to grab or pull hair like fine-toothed combs do. a polished finish (the matte finish feels a little catchy or chalky, although it runs fairly smoothly through the hair) and is heavier than expected too. It's not heavy on its own - it probably weighs about four quarters - but it's noticeably heavier than comparable large plastic combs. I expected it to be less durable. Of course, the weight also makes it sturdy and durable, so this is a compromise you might prefer. However, if you're looking for an ultra-lightweight solution, you might want to look at Titan instead - if you can justify the extra cost, which I can't. In my case, I tend to carry it in my briefcase or keep it in my desk at work rather than often carrying it in my bag as I originally intended. If I had known that, I could have settled for a cheaper plastic comb. I only chose stainless steel because I wanted something durable that wouldn't break my bag. However. It gets the job done and is a good comb.
