I was given a kayak to take to a landfill because it had a coin sized hole in the keel and about a 2" x 5" spongy thin area around it was pulled from concrete. Otherwise it's a good enough kayak so I did a little research and decided to have it repaired instead. I needed a plastic weld gun for the repair and found it here at Revain. I came down to three and chose this one because of its price and because it was the quickest to ship. Don't regret my purchase, what a great little tool for the price! It heated up fairly quickly and the temperature was perfect for melting HDPE (high density polyethylene) The tip I used for the tip size was spot on for the job and there was no sign of wear other than HDPE melt residue after the repair , which could be easily removed with the supplied brush. This effectively allows for a solid patch of the entire range while still being easy enough to use, even for people like me who have never done this before. Recommend this tool for this job!
