Purchased for my 85 year old mother with poor circulation. I've gone through many pairs of compression socks these are her favorites. The main reason is it is a closed toe and the compression is not too tight. Some of the socks are so tight that she has had to stop in a store to have help in removing them. The purpose of the socks in aiding the circulation will not take place if the user is in more pain that they perceive the benefit. This was often the case with other brands but she likes these so they are highly recommended.
