Slightly disappointed

I have little experience with touch up paint and ceramic coatings on my cars. I'm the type of guy who likes to spend a day or two updating my car and giving it a nice shine. So I have some experience with different applicators and products like ceramic coatings and compounds and all kinds of polishes etc. Ceramic coatings are in liquid form so basically you want a foam applicator that is very dense for drawing. Ceramic coating over paint. The idea isn't to have a sponge that soaks up the ceramic coating, but to place it on the surface so you can spread it evenly. If you have a sponge that is too soft and not dense enough, you will find that you are wasting a large amount of the ceramic coating itself. Ceramic coatings have certainly come down in price, but regardless, if you can get really good coatings, you're going to be spending a lot of money on them. This brings me to the applicator sponges, which frankly aren't thick enough to properly apply a ceramic coating, not too wasteful. Yes, you can use them and get the job done, but there are better options. With a little modification, you can turn it into a better applicator. For example, covering the side of the sponge with a short-pile microfiber cloth might give you something more effective. However, I don't think I need to change the applicator at all. They should be ready to come out of the box. While they can be used I don't think I would personally order them again.
