I am using this case with a Silicon Power A60 1TB NVMe SSD. The SSD is rated at 2200MB/s read and 1600MB/s write, so not the fastest NVMe SSD, but this enclosure is limited to USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gb/s (1000MB/s) speeds anyway, so you You can save some money by going for a cheap NVMe SSD. In CrystalDiskMark I actually read 986 MB/s and wrote 965 MB/s. When connected to a USB 3.1 Gen 1 5 Gb/s port, speeds dropped to 457 MB/s read and 443 MB/s write, as expected. When installing the SSD, one of the chips on the adapter circuit board was too high and rested against the housing when it was inserted. I had to use a thermal pad protector to get the chip in. The case does get a little warm, but that probably means the heatsink in the kit is doing its job. All in all, this case is a great way to get your hands on a really fast USB drive. In my case, the 1TB NVMe SSD and this case is $107.
