Really "sails" across the water when thrown at the right angle. So, it does what it's suppose to - but it's difficult to play with at times because it is so small & can go far & fast! If your friend misses it and it whips them in the face or chest OUCH! my kids play with it at the lake, and have had to make some pretty far swims out to get missed balls, and unfortunately make some apologies to some folks on the beach who have gotten nailed by missed catches! Still having fun with it, but not taking it every time we go!
