The lid requires 4 clips to hold it to the bottom or top of the MacBook and is too small to do a good job. The lower clip on the left has a weak point that broke within two weeks. I've since sealed it with tape but I just had to get it back and now it's too late. Update: Downgraded as the plastic is pretty brittle too. I've never dropped a laptop and carried a padded backpack but now all the clips snapped and I used double sided tape to secure the bag.
