Interference with pedals

I haven't ridden wet yet, but I'll comment as soon as possible. The rear fender seems to offer decent coverage to keep my back dry. There are many settings for the rear fender. The front fender has problems. The first problem is that it interferes with the pedals. The second problem is that it's not very reliable and moves away from the tire instead of staying in the middle. I mounted the front and found that the easiest way is to remove the front tire to mount the fender. I cleaned the tube that the compression fitting goes into. I installed the compression fitting and it was still loose. I then used one of the rubber boots around the compression fit, but it was still too loose. I then wrapped a piece of black rubber electrical insulation around the rubber and even then it was still too loose! I went with the front wheel anyway, suspecting the rear end of the fender would hit my foot on the pedal, and it actually does. After installation, sit on the bike, rotate the handlebars to both sides, and check if your foot touches the fender BEFORE rotating it. The front fender has minimal adjustment so the only solution was to cut about 5 inches off the end to make room for my foot. I'll update this once I've taken it on. Saturday rotation, literally. On a local trail I lost it on a mud covered wooden trail. Good news, nothing is damaged including me. Good news, the wings held up like a champ! During my ride, I notice that the front fender shifts a bit to either side, but it's not that bad. The back is solid. Both failed after my fall but were easy to adjust. I really can't think of a way to fix the front fender other than to keep it from moving. One thing I did was use a grip washer under the bolt head that tightens the expansion bolt. That helped a little with turning . I'm updating to 3 stars because it works, just a bit annoying.
