The yellow filter is not the same material as the original filter and if I had only bought the yellow one I would have given it a slightly higher rating. However, the purple filter is a complete failure. The original filter has a rubber gasket on the bottom of the filter to make it airtight as it is a HEPA filter and the important replacement part is not. What makes this fact unproblematic is the fact that the crucial filter is about 1/8 inch smaller in diameter. You can literally slide it from side to side, so even if there was a seal it wouldn't do anything. to a smaller filter size. One air leak and you smell dirty air being blown back into the air. Replacing it with a genuine Dyson part was a bit fiddly to install as it is so tight, but the exhaust was immediately cleaned to be odourless, like a new vacuum. Sometimes saving a few bucks just isn't worth it, the Dyson part is three times more expensive than its own prices!
