These are perfect for loose ends of wire that you want to protect. The heat shrink tube has a good shrink ratio and is suitable for a wide range of wire sizes. It has an adhesive backing so it's waterproof and seals the end and also doesn't slide off like regular heat shrink tubing. It's also quite thick, so it should be strong and resistant to tearing, tearing, or puncture. I wish I had known this sooner as it's the best way to end the end of a tag that isn't being used.
