Instructions are easy. I installed the lever on the right side of my computer desk in the corner with the supplied Allen key. The monitor I installed is a 27 inch Asus weighing 14.3 pounds. Tension on the ball joint that allows the monitor to move up and down is controlled with a small hex bolt and nut. When I first adjusted the tension, the monitor tended to slide down. A little more tension and the vertical holds better. After some use, the vertical tension relaxed and had to be tightened again. The included nut used to adjust the tension had a rounded cap and seemed to limit torque as the bolt could not go through the nut. A little more torque was required, at which point the round cap on the nut snapped off, eventually providing the necessary tension to hold the monitor in place. Horizontal adjustment was also a bit difficult to get to the ideal level as the ball seat could slide past the level point. This problem was also solved when the cap on the nut came loose, allowing the bolt to go further through the nut. Either that or look for a nut to replace the original. I chose this mount because a wall mount was out of the question. For what I wanted the arm works great. Now I can slide my keyboard and other things under the monitor and free up more space on my desk. Ultimately, I would recommend this item, bearing in mind that you shouldn't put a heavy monitor on it, and knowing that you're going to have to put in more effort than it seems obvious.
