Adult sizes seem more appropriate but children sizes are too big. My eldest usually wears a size 5T and my youngest wears between 18-24 months to 2T depending on the brand. So I ordered 5t for my older and for my younger 1-2t. After received, size 5T was huge for her and almost fit me (I'm a petite woman 5ft 2ft) and 1-2T was perfect for my senior. So based on a guess size 9-12 months I ordered my youngest and it fits her perfectly. I would recommend these pajamas as they are soft and comfortable but be aware that they are quite large.
