We use coasters regularly and they are so pretty (and fun). Made from a special absorbent ceramic stone, they are capable of absorbing drops or droplets of water evaporating from chilled glass. They can absorb water outside the sundae. Any liquid will penetrate the coasters leaving the surface dry. The material is absorbent which is great for us ice cream lovers, it helps absorb condensation from our drinks. The cork backing helps hold the tables in place, which is nice. I love the fact that they don't look like a coaster but more like a piece of art on my desk. Thin yet durable, it keeps my sweaty drinks from spilling all over the place or sticking to the bottom of the mug when you pick it up.
