
The inner infuser cylinder that contains the tea has no lid in the infuser. Loose tea usually floats, doesn't sink. When you fill the pot with water, the tea will float and eventually spill out of the pot into the water, making a big mess. Alternatively, if you shake or vigorously stir the jar, the same result occurs. This problem could easily be avoided if the strainer had its own inner lid to prevent tea leaves from getting into the tea water.
